My reason for doing this is two-fold. First of all, I figured that there is some value to putting myself out there as scholar and making my persona more accessible to a non-academic audience. All the cool kids in higher education are doing it and I’m vulnerable to peer pressure (just kidding). To add to it, I really feel the need to just set my ideas to the world. So why am I not just using social media apps for that? Well the second reason that I am starting a throwback blog is that I have deep misgivings about social media platforms. I will probably expand on these thoughts in a post or two. Basically, I think they are really rather poor avenues for expression and discussion. I want to engage creatively and intellectually with others, so I am sharing these ideas and I am encouraging you to engage with them and share your own ideas with me and begin a correspondence: joshtlanderson@gmail.com
I just figure this is better done in a higher time investment and smaller-world fashion than what the mainstream of social media allows for. Be well.
