About Me

I am a social scientist and educator of science communication and related topics. I think science is very important to modern life and how we talk about it has major implications.

I currently live in Tucson, Arizona and where I call the beautiful Sonoran Desert my home. When I get the time, I try to hike the trails around me, and take in the natural environment. My favorite co-habitants are roadrunners, tarantulas, ocotillos, and of course the fan favorite saguaros. I have also lived in Austin, Texas, Madison, Wisconsin, and Sevilla, Andalucia. I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I hope to share my thoughts on all these places on this site soon!

In addition to desert hiking, another big love of mine is gaming. I have always loved games and they have had an impact on my life as early as I could remember. The games I spend the most time playing are collectible card games like Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic the Gathering, or video game series like Pokemon or the Legend of Zelda. If you are astute, I’m sure you can find references to games like these in most of my creative products. In my spare time, I also try to design my own games.
